Verdantas Flow Labs is an internationally acclaimed leader in solving flow-related engineering and environmental problems. Founded in 1894, the laboratory at the Alden Campus in Holden, Massachusetts (formally Alden Research Laboratory) is the oldest continuously operating hydraulic modeling and testing laboratory in North America. The Alden Campus boasts over 150,000 sq. ft. of indoor laboratory testing space spread across 32 acres. The on-site instrumentation, carpentry, and machine shops provide the specialty fabrication and data acquisition systems needed to support a wide range of complex and multifaceted projects. Our Anderson, South Carolina facility (formally Clemson Hydraulics Laboratory) offers 60,000 sq. ft. of indoor laboratory space. Both facilities can take advantage of significant outdoor space if necessary.
Our team of expert engineering, scientific, and crafts staff provides design, investigation, and evaluation of water, air and gas flow related phenomenon to a wide variety of industries including power generation, municipalities, manufacturing, defense, biomedical/pharmaceutical, ventilation and pollution control. Our team calls upon our extensive history and experience testing and designing fluid dynamics systems and apply that knowledge to solve problems using analytical models, computational fluid dynamic simulations, and laboratory testing of scaled and prototype systems. The Alden Campus houses large recirculation testing flumes (largest: 20 ft W x 10 ft D x 80 ft L), flow meter calibration lines (9 lines; 33,000-0.05 GPM), a stormwater technology evaluation facility, tow tanks (largest: 4 ft W x 4 ft D x 110 ft L), large testing tanks (largest: 34 ft W x 12 ft D x 70 ft L) and numerous other unique facilities for evaluating air and water flow related devices.
